How are you holding up? Have you been able to focus on Jesus over the last few days or has the negativity of the hour weighed you down?

God wants you to experience deeper intimacy with Him in this season. You aren’t called to survive the chaos of our time but flourish in the midst of it.

One of God’s greatest gifts to you as a believer is experiencing the atmosphere of Heaven while living on the earth.​

Stop of the Cycle

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Scripture is clear we need to give our attention to God and what He values.

When your time is spent feeding on the perpetual negative news cycle, it dictates the direction of your thoughts. When you have a friend or family member constantly calling to let you know how bad things have gotten, it creates an atmosphere of oppression.

Some things are outside of your control but you get to choose how often you turn on the news or answer the phone.

Stop giving your attention to the things of this world and be intentional on where you are allowing your thoughts to go.​

Tongues Helps You

But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit.

​Jude 1:20

Praying in tongues helps you build your faith because it happens outside of your natural mind.

When you find yourself in what feels like a hopeless situation, tongues can begin birthing faith for the impossible and lift the atmosphere of discouragement.

Make sure you are praying in tongues for at least ten or fifteen minutes every day. If tongues is a gift you don’t have much experience using try setting a timer and see the different it makes after just a few days.

Speak Out God’s Attributes​

Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

Hebrews 3:1

About two years ago, I injured my neck in London while I was preaching. The doctor at Urgent Care told me the vertebrae I injured is what causes people to become quadriplegic. As I got into my car to head to the hospital, I could tangibly feel fear.

I knew God was bigger than the issue I was facing and began declaring the attributes of God out loud in the car. Within minutes I was completely at peace and ended up supernaturally healed a few hours later.

When you declare the attributes of God out loud, you shift your thoughts and the atmosphere around you begins to line-up with what you are saying. The Kingdom of God is voice activated.​

Express Your Gratitude

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Thanking God for what He has already done for you helps you to remember His goodness.

The more you remember the goodness of God, the more your perspective shifts off what you might be lacking at the moment and onto how much God loves you.

You are already loved, blessed, protected, and provided for because you are a child of God. Spend some time remembering God’s faithfulness. Feel the atmosphere become more peaceful as you realize God hasn’t let you down yet, so you have no reason to be concerned He will let you down now.

Let’s be a people who set our focus on Jesus, our passion on God’s presence and experience His miraculous power!
