Saved + Sent Day 3

Yesterday, I had a great plan of looking for someone to minister to while I was running my errands…

As I walked into Target I asked God to show me someone who He wanted to encourage with a word of knowledge but as I focused on my list of things to buy I completely forgot to look around.

Later in the afternoon our family went to a Thunder basketball game and I again asked God to highlight someone to share a word of knowledge with or pray for.

During the game I was so excited because I kept looking around when everyone would cheer – we are entering a season where arenas will be filled with people cheering for God.

Around 9pm, I hadn’t told anyone about Jesus so I headed to the grocery store in hopes of finding someone.

As I was sharing my experience, someone told me I was being too mechanical with trying to stretch my faith.

Spirit-led vs. Purpose Driven

Have you ever wondered if you were following the will of God?

Some people will argue Jesus was Spirit-led and we should be the same – I agree.

Then Jesus said to them, ?Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do. For whatever He does, likewise the Son does.

John 5:19

Being Spirit-led doesn’t mean we become subjective with Scripture.

We need to be back to objectively obeying the Bible.

You don’t need the Holy Spirit to tell you to feed the homeless person asking for food. Scripture is already very clear you should meet the needs of the people in front of you.

Whoever has the world?s goods and sees his brother in need, but closes his heart of compassion from him, how can the love of God remain in him?

1 John 3:17

The same way you don’t need to personally be told to feed the poor, you don’t need three visits from an angel and lightning bolts from Heaven to share your faith.

God draws people to Himself. God opens hearts to receive salvation. God gets all the glory when miracles manifest.

As you intentionally share your faith – don’t get caught in the mechanics. Trust God knows your heart to serve Him.

Then go for it – step out believing God will use you to touch the lives of the people around you!

Suggested Prayers

Ask God to sensitivity to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Ask God to lead you to people He has already been preparing for an encounter with Him.

Ask God to prepare the hearts of the people you will be sharing with.
