  • Get Ready for the Outpouring

We are right on the precipice of God pouring out His glory in ways we have never seen before. This is your season of suddenly!

On a recent group Zoom call – I felt led to break off the spirit of delay. A spirit of delay tries to slow down God’s plan for your life. It will cause roadblocks, hindrances, and confusion to keep you from accomplishing all God has for you.

    Testimony from Zoom Call

M.P. was on the Zoom call and I received her testimony the next morning:

I also wanted to tell you a suddenly. I have been moving in art and crafts which was delayed while I was sick, however, I have been diligently moving in learning and creating. We have experienced many delays and hindrances as I have attempted to use some of this as ministry and blessings. Anyway, I have (removed product name to keep anonymous) to glorify God as gifts to folks. This morning, I saw where I finally, not only made a sale, but sold out to one person, 18 items and they are going to California! I pray over anything I sell and send a personal note or scripture! I see this as a sign of answer to breaking off delay and I wanted you both to know. The time stamp on the sale was 10:00 pm Eastern Standard Time!

God knows the number of hairs on your head and He wants you to receive the miracle you need more than you want it.

    Sudden Breakthrough!

When you study the life of Jesus – you quickly realize He lived in the realm of the immediate. Jesus spoke to Lazarus and he was instantly raised from the dead. Jesus told the disciples to cast their net on the other side of the boat and immediately the nets were filled with fish.

Live in the Realm of the Immediate

The pruning season you have been in is to prepare you to live more like Jesus – including seeing immediate results as you follow the Holy Spirit.

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth from My mouth, and I announced them. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

    Isaiah 48:3

God wants to take you from hoping your promises will one day come to pass to seeing sudden manifestation.

Right now in the name of Jesus, I break off every spirit of delay trying to hinder you from walking into all God has for you. Together, we agree this is your season of suddenly and turnaround.

    Time of Great Harvest

As you study the life of Jesus you quickly notice He was always focused on other people. He wasn’t concerned about His own circumstances but looking to meet needs in His path.

You are anointed to have an impact on people and situations around you.

We are entering a time of great outpouring to the Body of Christ so we can get our eyes off ourselves and look at the world around us.

After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of Him into every city and place where He Himself was about to come. He said to them, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

    Luke 10:1-2

Ask God to open your eyes to people in your life who are ready to hear the Gospel.

    Get Ready for Resistance

Some guys showed up at a meeting John and I were hosting for the purpose of mocking the meeting and God. We have had plenty of experiences where people voice opinions about our beliefs or us personally but I can’t remember a time when someone so brazenly showed up to be a disruption.

You might have heard a saying similar to, “the greater the darkness in the world, the brighter your light shines”. Just because your light is shining, doesn’t mean you don’t experience persecution.

If you are reproached because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

    1 Peter 4:14

Pray for God to open the eyes of those who would come against your faith and boldness to stand no matter what is coming against you.

    Called to Give

God loved the whole world so He gave. The story of the Samaritan is a great example of giving without any expectation for return.

Is there a way you can sow kindness to someone who has been helping you grow in love?

But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine. Then he set him on his own donkey and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day when he departed, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said to him, ‘Take care of him. I will repay you whatever else you spend when I return.’

    Luke 10:33-35

Evaluate how you can sow your time, energy, effort or resources in a new way.

    Amazing Outpouring of God’s Glory

Can you imagine a worship service where the person next to you starts screaming because their prosthetic leg turned into a leg of flesh?

You are called to walk in the miraculous power Jesus did.

Many kings and prophets of old longed to see these days of miracles that you’ve been favored to see. They would have given everything to hear the revelation you’ve been favored to hear. Yet they didn’t get to see as much as a glimpse or hear even a whisper.

    Luke 10:24

Begin praying for more hunger to see God move miraculously.

    Manifestations are Secondary

You have been given authority to use the power found in the name of Jesus but more importantly you get to personally know Him!

As more miracles are poured out, don’t lose the most important thing – personal intimacy with God.

Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

    Luke 10:19-20

Make sure to set aside time daily to love on Jesus.

    Don’t Get Distracted

We can all fall into the trap of working for God. Don’t let the excitement of the season we are living in keep you from spending time sitting at Jesus’ feet.

Let’s be a people who set our focus on Jesus, live in God’s presence and walk His miraculous power!

  • You Can Look Like Jesus

God is calling you higher! You can walk in the manifestation of God’s glory and be an expression of His godliness.

We are entering into one of the greatest outpourings of the Holy Spirit in history but one of the greatest calling you will ever have is to be conformed into the image of Christ. But refuse profane and foolish myths. Instead, exercise in the ways of godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable in all things, holding promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
    (1 Timothy 4:7-8)

Paul tells Timothy how to be a good minister of Jesus and it starts with godliness. Even if you aren’t called to vocational ministry – you are still a minister of Christ on the earth. Godliness is reflecting the nature of the Kingdom of God in your everyday life.

The more you intentionally practice reflecting the nature of God – the easier it will become when life gets tough.Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
    (1 Timothy 4:12)

Paul goes on to tell Timothy to live as an example. People around you should be able to imitate your speech, your behavior, your faith and it glorify God.

You are a new creation in Christ and your behavior should line up with His reality.

Your anointing is increasing, and you never want your anointing to outweigh your character.

Character is developed as you intentionally cultivate your relationship with God and obey Him.Meditate on these things. Give yourself completely to them, that your progress may be known to everyone.
    (1 Timothy 4:15)

I’m just as excited as you about the manifestations of God we are experiencing – but we have to take time to focus on getting our character ready to carry more of His glory.

  • You Can Stand

How is your walk with God going? Are you excited about what God is doing in your life or do you feel like you are in a funk?

I know a woman who has been having a really hard time in her job. She knows God has called her to a very specific role but can tell you all the reasons she is ready to move on to something else. The job is no longer enjoyable, the financial compensation is not as good as other opportunities, and she wants to feel like what she is doing matters.

As you are waiting for promises to be fulfilled – it is easy to get distracted with other opportunities or discouraged at not seeing progress.

You must keep your eyes on God and believe He will fulfill the promises He has given to you. Jesus was able to endure the cross because His eyes were fixed on the promise of His prize. Therefore, since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

If you have been struggling to stand firm on God’s promises – it’s time to lay aside every weight and sin so you can run the race set before you.

Try some of the following to get yourself out of a funk and back into a place of faith:

    • Write down the promises God has given you and put them next to your bed. Read them in the morning to get yourself focused on where you are going, not just where you are today.
    • Spend some time remembering the faithfulness of God and the promises He has already fulfilled in your life. As you remind yourself of what God has already done, it will stir your faith to believe He will do it again.
    • Pray in tongues to build yourself up and get outside of your natural understanding.
    • Find a friend who will encourage you to believe God at His word and cheer on your steps of faith.
    • Take action to see the promises of God manifest into the now. If you are believing for God to take you to the nations as a missionary get a passport in faith. If you are believing God to own a business buy some entrepreneurship books. Take action!

God has promises for you that will come to pass!

Let me know what action you are going to take this week as a step of faith to seeing a promise fulfilled. Seriously, reply to this email and let me know what you are doing – sometimes just letting someone else know is all the accountability you need.

  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit

You have greatness inside of you! You have the power to see lives transformed and God glorified.

Jesus told the disciples not to try to do anything for Him without first receiving the Holy Spirit.Being assembled with them, He commanded them, “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, of which you have heard from Me. For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
    (Acts 1:4-5)

You can give a homeless addict food to feed them for a day (which is important!) but you won’t see them set free from their addiction without the power of the Holy Spirit.

You must be baptized in the Holy Spirit – or fully immersed on every side. Operating without the Holy Spirit has no eternal value because works don’t transform lives.

    Power with Purpose

God wants you empowered by the Holy Spirit to transform lives. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
    (Acts 1:8)

You must have power before you can be a witness. Once you have power you are commanded to be a witness testifying of the reality of Jesus with miracles, signs, and wonders following.

Part of being a witness is stepping out in faith to pray for others.

Do you want to see God use you to raise someone from the dead? I hope so! You must realize if you don’t ever pray for a dead person – you will never see any raised.

    Encountering the Holy Spirit

Focus on having an encounter with God. It is easy to get distracted by what God hasn’t done or trying to fulfill every prophetic word you have received overnight – you just need one encounter with God.When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues as of fire, being distributed and resting on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to speak.
    (Acts 2:1-4)

When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit your spiritual senses open in a new way. You can hear Heaven, you can see in the spirit, you can speak in new tongues.

In the western church we have often limited the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to the ability to do good works while removing His power.

True encounters with God bring transformation.

I want to see you raised up to walk in the miraculous power of God, live in the presence of God, and display the love of God in everything you do!

  • Separate Don’t Isolate

Do you feel almost as if you are walking in a completely different direction from those around you? Maybe it feels like you are losing friends or being completely misunderstood?

As we navigate the transition taking place in this season – a separation of relationships and people groups is taking place. Often when we talk about people transitioning to a new church or out of friend groups it always has a negative condonation but it isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

God is connecting you with the people you will fight with in the next season. Don’t be surprised if you make new friends in this season while you transition out of some old friendships. The LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many people with you for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel glorify themselves over Me, saying, ‘Our own power saved us.’ So now, call out so the people can hear, ‘Whoever is afraid or anxious may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’ ” So twenty-two thousand from among the people turned back, and ten thousand were left. But the LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many people. Bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. When I say to you, ‘This one will go with you,’ he will go with you. Everyone about whom I will say, ‘This one will not go with you,’ will not go.” So he brought the people down to the water, and the LORD said to Gideon, “You shall set apart by himself everyone who laps the water with his tongue like dogs; likewise, everyone who kneels down to drink.” The number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was three hundred. The rest of the people had knelt to drink water. The LORD said to Gideon, “With three hundred men who lapped to drink, I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. All the rest of the people should go home.”(Judges 7:2-7)

God had specific people for Gideon to go to battle with to see victory – just like He does for you.

Gideon couldn’t go to battle with soldiers bound by fear. God knows who will fearlessly fight with you even when the situation seems impossible.

You want to do life with people who are keeping their eyes up to see how the Holy Spirit is moving.

When Gideon sent the soldiers away he didn’t condemn them – they simply weren’t his people in this battle. Keep your heart from judging those God might be moving you on from.

Some people who you ran with in the last season might be called to something different in this season.

  • Transition Well

How are you handling the season of transition we are in?

I have gone through tons of transition recently. In some areas I saw how much I have matured since the last test, in other ways I saw how much I still need to grow.

No matter how it’s going for you – remember God is taking you to a place to carry the glory He has for you.

Right now, you are in a season when God is trying to position you in a specific place with the right people for a specific assignment. You might be moving geographically, careers, churches, relationships, etc. Don’t let the fear of change keep you for getting where God wants you.

    Faith Walk

Usually when you are in a season of transition – God doesn’t tell you exactly where you are going but He will give you one step at a time. Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
    (Genesis 12:1-2)

You are in a faith walk! You might not know all of the details before taking a step of faith into what God has called you to do but don’t let that keep you from stepping out.

God is training you to walk by faith.

    Child of God

Can you remember a testimony of breakthrough in your life? If God came through for you before – He will come through for you in the midst of the unsettling you are experiencing now.Is not this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” But Moses said to the people, “Fear not! Stand firm! And see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see again.(Exodus 14:12-13)

The Israelites saw God do amazing miracles – yet questioned His ability to help them.

You can’t walk in faith if you are living as a slave instead of a son.

The Israelites didn’t think of themselves as children of God who had already received his love, kindness, and provision. God is a good Father and you can trust Him even in the midst of great shaking.

If you focus on nothing else in this season of transition – focus on what it means to be a child of God.

    Speak Faith

The kingdom of God is voice activated – so watch what you say. When you complain about what doesn’t seem to be working you are cursing what God is trying to do.How long will this evil assembly be murmuring against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel which they murmur against Me.(Numbers 14:27)

Instead of thinking about everything going wrong or that doesn’t seem to be working – spend time in prayer, worship and tongues.

God’s heart is always for you to walk in all He has for you and see the fulfillment of promises.

Chaos and shaking are coming to America in greater ways but the glory of God is falling is going to fall on you like never before.

  • Who are you pleasing?

Saul lived to please people. David lived to please God. Who are you living to please?

When God is calling you to do something new or different – you will have to make a choice to follow God despite the desires of other people or what might be easiest for you.

Saul told Samuel that he didn’t follow God because he feared the people. You can’t let your fears and insecurities dictate your obedience to God.

Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. For I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

    1 Samuel 15:24

If you live for the praise of man – you will die by their criticism.

You can choose to follow God even if you are uncomfortable, rejected by others, lose what looks like worldly success or you can choose to take the path of least resistance.

When He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, of whom He testified, saying, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will fulfill My entire will.’

    Acts 13:22

David was in no way perfect, remember Bathsheba – but God calls him a man after His heart because David was focused on fulfilling God’s will.

Twice, David could have killed Saul which would have pleased his soldiers and been fulfilling to the flesh but he was willing to follow God.

If you have been struggling to step into what God has for you – always remember that you must live to please God alone.

  • Pentecost is on the Way

Breakthrough is here! You are getting ready to see a manifestation of the glory of God in a way you have never dreamed or imagined.

Pentecost is quickly approaching, and you are going to receive a literal outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus came and paid a price so that you could be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I indeed baptize you with water to repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

    Matthew 3:11

When Jesus walked the earth – there was never a situation He spoke into that didn’t immediately, notably remarkably shift. Maybe you have received a baptism of the Holy Spirit and you might have even experienced the fire but are you a catalyst for transformation like Jesus?

God is looking for people who will lay down their lives for the advancement of the Gospel. Are you willing to walk as Jesus walked, love as Jesus loved, and carry the glory like Jesus carried the glory?

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

    Acts 2:41

When studying the book of Acts – you see the people in the city become so aware of the movement of God they had to stop to figure out what is going on and 3,000 get saved in a day.

You need such an outpouring of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost that the people around you take notice.

Over the next few weeks – spend time pressing into God for a fresh encounter with Him. I want to encourage you not to spend time going through a religious checklist – get on your face before God, fast, pray, and seek Him like never before.

God, we ask that You begin to stir within us a passionate pursuit of You like we have never, ever known. We want to willingly, gloriously, excitedly lay down our lives to seek Your face and to serve You to be ambassadors everywhere that we go. We need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
